“Living with cats in a hot spring inn-like home”

A couple who moved here from outside the prefecture in search of a comfortable life with their 10 beloved cats have now found a leisurely life surrounded by tranquil rural scenery.

The owner was particular about creating a bath like that of a hot spring inn, and used fragrant Japanese cypress and heavy Towada stone as materials.

Another theme was “a house where cats can live comfortably.” We created a “cat room” with a litter box and cage, and installed a cat tower and cat steps in the living room where cats can play to their heart’s content. The wood of the floors and walls is made of natural coniferous wood, which is known to be non-slip.

The wife’s preference was to create a functional home. With storage space to store all the miscellaneous items and an efficient housework flow, they were able to create a neat and tidy space like a hotel. There are no more scary moments when the cat plays with things left out.

“The more I live in this house, the more I like it,” said the husband.
